Stan Hitchcock (1933-2019) was an American musician, author, radio and television host, and businessman, best known for his contributions to the country music industry. He got his start in music as a member of the gospel group, The Sunshine Boys, before going on to become a prolific songwriter and performing artist himself. Hitchcock also worked as a talent scout and producer for Capitol Records, where he helped launch the careers of numerous country music stars.
In addition to his work in music, Hitchcock was a well-respected author, with several books to his name, including "The Master's Plan: A Novel About Purpose and Destiny" and "Stories Behind the Grand Ole Opry." He was also a popular radio and television host, with shows such as "The Stan Hitchcock Show" and "Larry's Country Diner."
Hitchcock was known for his dedication to preserving the traditions of country music, and was honored with numerous awards throughout his career, including induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He passed away in 2019 at the age of 85.
